play your role

faithidentitystrategycommunity

not everybody needs to be michael jordan. not everybody needs to be kobe. not everybody needs to be lebron.

just play your role.

the game

a month ago i was in a foreign land with less than a hundred dollars to my name. didn't know anybody. jumping from hostel to hostel. figuring it out.

now i'm in the hills in LA with some of the most incredible people i've ever met. capturing something special. being part of something that matters.

the work is real. the people we are helping are real. the mission is real. that is a blessing. i don't know how else to put it.

the rebound matters

when it's your time to shoot, shoot. when it's your time to get the rebound, get the rebound. when it's your time to set the screen, set the screen. whatever your assignment is, prepare for it and execute it with everything you have.

you don't need to be the face of it. you don't need the most minutes. you don't need your name in the headline.

by playing your role well, opportunities come out of it that you never could have predicted. doors open. people notice. God moves.

most people are not even in the game

that is the part people forget. they are so busy comparing themselves to the starters that they forget: a lot of people are not even on the roster. a lot of people are not even in the building.

if you are in the game at all, in any capacity, that is something to be thankful for. that is a position of privilege. honor it.

the blessing

i feel honored and blessed to be here. not because of the title. not because of the spotlight. because the work we are doing is real. the things we are doing. the people we are helping. it is a blessing bro.

just play your role. do the best you can. be thankful for the position you have. the rest takes care of itself.

everybody doesn't need to be michael jordan. just play your role. make sure when it's your time, you're prepared. a lot of people are not even in the game.
